It's ILLEGAL Immigration

Martin, of Martin and Rivers, says:

So I have come up with a plan to do something about illegal immigration. Some may be upset with me, but hey, it's all free speech.

Find them....arrest them....deport them. And if they have committed any OTHER crimes, Find them...arrest them...try them...if convicted, jail them. Then....

Figure out how much incarceration will cost. For example, if an illegal is sentenced to 5 years, calculate what it would cost per year, times 5. Then add on 10 percent per year for inflation, cost of living, or just for the heck of it, and that will be the bill. Ok...so who pays the bill? The government of the illegal's country. Send the bill to them. If they refuse to pay, then remove that country's ambassador and send him/her back to their country until they pay the bill.

We may not have many ambassadors of foreign nations left in the United States, but who cares? We could turn the UN and their embassies into child care learning centers for children of the United States.

Next, we need an amendment to the Constitution. If an illegal is here and they engage in a sex act resulting in the birth of a child, that child will NOT be an American citizen. Persons in this country committing crimes are NOT allowed to profit from that crime. By entering the United States illegally, a crime was committed. There will be no right of claim to US citizenship. The child/children will be considered citizens of the parent's home country. If the mother and father are from different countries, then THEY can argue the point. If the mother/father is a legal US citizen, then they should be arrested for aiding and abetting a criminal. (Yes, I know...we will hear..."I did not know" quite a bit. Too bad-so sad. Well, not really sad, just too bad.)

Seems so simple, yet it would never get done. I tell ya...they need to put me in charge of the whole thing.

Only on TV? Not This Time!

Martin shares:

It was February 2009 and I received a message on Facebook. Some guy, who called me by name and was very polite, asked me if I was ever in New Jersey and if I had any connections to the city of Elizabeth. I replied that yes, I was originally from New Jersey and I used to live in Elizabeth. He then asked me some questions and I told him some things that a perfect stranger would not know.

We chatted via message. He called his wife at her work and sent her the link of the Facebook page with my picture and he asked her to look at it. She had said she was very busy and would look later. He asked again for her to please look at it. She did. He later told me that she said, "oh my, you just found your father" and they were both stunned.

After I was certain it was him, I told him that this was a conversation that was 36 years in the making. After all of that time, my son found me.

I also have a daughter and another son, and when they were around 12 or so, I had told them that I had another son, but I did not know where he was. (It is a long and complicated story that no longer matters). I never hid the fact that I had a son out there.

I found out that he was married and had 3 children. My daughter has a son, so all of a sudden, I had 4 grandchildren, and my daughter and younger son had an older brother, and I had a daughter-in-law.

For me, Thanksgiving of 2009 arrived in February.

I acknowledged to Thomas that I was his father. Now, he is called Tom. I adapted. He was 18 months when I last saw him. My little Thomas was now Tom. Husband and father to his own children. He was raised by his grandfather, my former father-in-law. (You done good, Pop - Rest in Peace). My ex was not around and I was in the Army and try as I might, I had lost custody due to my military status. When Pop moved, no one told me where they were. Until February 2009.

In May of 2009, my daughter and I flew to New Jersey. (Yes, on purpose) and Tom and his family picked us up. We met at the arrival terminal and we hugged for what seemed like an eternity, although the separation was eternal. Until now. Crying all around. The people watching this did not know what to make of it, but we were all oblivious to our surroundings. I had my son, he had his father, and he met his sister. I met my 3 other grandchildren (who immediately called me Grandpa), I met my daughter-in-law and it was how it should have always been. Fate stopped it for 36 years but allowed me this now.

Tom is the operations director of a school bus company, so naturally, he picked us up in a school bus. What a sense of humor. Not sure where he got that from. :)

When we arrived, there was a family reunion. About 20 of us, including my uncle, a retired pediatrician and my aunt, a retired high school teacher. My uncle was so happy. His family was together again. He told me when he left to go home that this was one of the happiest moments of his life. To see his family come together again. (It was like that for all of us Uncle Bobby)

I went back for Thanksgiving (this time, the November one) and spent a few days in New Jersey.

Not many people know how this feels. Some do. But for those who don't, it is not something I can describe.

Yes, this happens only on TV, right? Not this time.

My son told me that for all of these years, he felt my presence. I thought of him every day. I still do.

My son found his sister. He found his brother. He found the grandfather of his children. He found his wife's father-in-law.

My son found me.

A Business Review - Huh?

Martin Says:

So what's up with a business review? Yea, I know....for me, it will be few and far between. I usually talk about the issues of the day, or as in Washington, the issues of the moment. But this is important since everyone reading this is using a computer somewhere. So here it is.

When I had my PC made, I went nuts and had the "maker" put the hard drives in RAID mode. Why? I have asked myself that so many times, all I get for answers are zero's and one's, ala binary code. It was and is that mysterious to me. I knew I was wasting some hard drive space for the sake of something I was told, of which I cannot recall. Perhaps I should have had them put in more memory?

So NOW what? I checked and found a business on Twitter in my local area, and I will disclose that I do know the owner and I knew of his integrity and the thought that I will NOT get ripped off (not because I knew him, but because of his integrity) so I sent an email.

Parts were ordered and we set up a time for 9am yesterday. Lo and behold, he was on time! A business, making a house call, was actually ON TIME! Wow! Am I back in the 60's? It was good.

To make a long story short, as those of you who know me are aware of how long winded I am, the PC was completely redone and it is just screaming along. Faster and better than ever.

I am a retail "watcher" and when I see a lack of customer service or caring on the part of a retailer, I spread the word. However, when I see caring and customer oriented service, I spread the word as well! Word of mouth is the best way for a person to know if the service was good or bad. And I will tell you all in Martin and Rivers land that this was GREAT customer service. On time. No rip off. Explained the why's and the how's and the when's. Even took time to see if I had any questions. (I was preparing myself for a test!)

So here is the bottom line. You have a Windows or MAC based computer that needs a look-see? A repair? An upgrade? A diagnostic? Then I do recommend that you look into contacting CH Technology. Contact Chad at chad@chtechnology.info, Twitter him at @CHTechLLC and ask away and/or call him at 414-350-2422. Tell him that Martin sent you. He may still speak to you anyway!

And no, I am not a paid consultant or an advertiser of CH Technology. As I said earlier, I do know him but I do not work for him. I just enjoyed the service he performed on my computer and thought that the word needs to go forth.

So word......... Go forth hither and yon and reach the blogotweeps!

Ya done good, Chad!

The First One

What Martin Thinks:

Rivers is away for a few weeks. She will be back and can speak for herself. I never speak for her.

Nationally...

What the heck is going on in Washington? From the halls of Congress to within the walls of the White House. What has happened? The Health Care Debate raged for a while and it was well publicized. Of course, it was not REALLY a debate. It was the democrats telling the republicans what would happen. Bipartisanship? Is that the name of a new Navy vessel? It was surely not what took place in Washington. Senators and US representatives caved on their "public" position. It was not a debate. It was a deal that Vito Corleone would have been proud of, without the horses' head. No one knows what this newly signed law says. Since when can the public be forced to buy health insurance? Some would say that we are forced to buy car insurance, right? Wrong. No one says that we must drive a car. It is not mandatory to drive. It is a choice.

A Senator or three received whatever for their yes vote. A Representative received the same whatever for theirs. Partisan politics is not in the best interests of the citizens. It is in the interests of the politicians. Once elected, they go right back to campaign mode.

What about jobs? What about ILLEGAL immigration? (notice the word "illegal" in there?) What about the economy? What about our elderly? What about our young? What about our veterans? What about our infrastructure? We send billions to other nations. I wonder where we are getting that money? Are we speeding up the presses at the US Mint? Why can't we fix Milwaukee, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York...well, you get the idea.

Our priorities are backwards. Case in point: A major sports figure can make millions per year for playing a GAME! A teacher, police officer, firefighter, EMS worker can make 30-40k per year, and their jobs are not games.

Time to take back the nation from the elected ones. I may be looking at this incorrectly, but my idea at election time will have me vote against any incumbent. THAT is their term limit. They think they are owed the position. Not!

Time to take back this nation from those who have forgotten this nation.
